Cacaban: The Peacefull Place to Charge Your Energy

Cacaban, the first official reservoir of Indonesia maybe the most visited tourism object by me. First time I visited it, when I was 1st year of Junior High School. Actually, when I was Elementary School my sisters invited me went there with some friends. But, my parents forbids me because we will went there bycycle whereas I was kid. They worried with my safety.

I visited there first time with the group of my neighbor. We departed by pick up with fun and finally I could see Cacaban, yeah. Cacaban is the huge reservoir located in Kedungbanteng, Tegal. We can find some interesting spot here, such as the "coast", the water, the jungle around reservoir, the hills, the children area, the entertainment stage and the giant "cobek" (the Stone mortar and pestle to grind sambal in Indonesia). Every I goes there, I always visit all the spot altough the distance is fairly far.

For me, the main appeal of Cacaban is the peacefull of the place. Yeah, it will serve the fresh breeze, the warm of sunlight and the green of the trees. In summer, Cacaban really exotic just like a place in Hawaii or Jeju Island (hahaha just ramble). In Cacaban, I love to follows the jungle track. Despite sometimes I got lost there, but I am never fearful. Hahaha, I remember I ever followed the jungle track with my cousins and we got lost. Hepi, one of my cousin cried because felt tired and thirsty. That was a funny and impresif experience. When I followed the track, I felt I am mountainering, but just in the short time.
 
Generally, the hills of Cacaban consist of two Hills, west and east. In the east hill there is a spot named "Mbah Santi hill". The people say that Mbah Santi hill is a spooky place and forbidden especially for youngman. I dont know the reason, it is enough for me to be a reason to stay away from that place. In addition, the giant "cobek" also there in the east hill. Actually, that is not a true "Cobek", just looked like. I dont know the function of that thing, but sure it is related with the irigation. Besides that, in the east hill there are bridge protrude to the water, so we can go to the middle of the reservoir without swimming hehe. The last spot of the east hill is the place like military exercise area. 

The second hill is west hill. There are some interesting spot a long this hill. Not only fun to follow the jungle track here, but also we can find some spot like traditional-ethnic shelter, the top of "island", and the stony "coast". In the west hill, I often get lost to the nearby village. 

If you want to sailing in the reservoir, you can having a boat. It just only pay 5000-10.000 IDR to having a boat. Sometimes, some tourist want to delivered to the fishing spot. You know guys, there is floating restaurant there. The main menu is sea food off course, especially fish. It will be very special, enjoying the fish in the middle of reservoir. You must know that Tegalnese food is spicy, so you have to prepare the drink water. 


The other spot just like the grassy hill, children area, campsite and entertainment stage just complement of this tourism object. You can sliding in the grassy hill, playing the wobble or swing in the children area, singing and dancing in the entertainment stage, or build the tent in the campsite. I remember, there is one spot nearby the entertainment are, that is small zoo. Yeah, I seen a boar, peacock, bird and monkey on the cage.


Hemh, that is a simple tourism object, but I love it so much. I always "charge" myself there and go home with new energy. Maybe you interesting with Cacaban? So, lets go there. Good Luck!!
