Weekend Workcamp for Cleaner Mangkang, Semarang

Yeah, actually I dont know what should I write here, in my note. I just think that I have to make a note because I have asked my friend to wrote a note after we finished our activity yesterday. Its all begin from a program, Weekend Workcamp Mangkang at 20-21 Sept 2014 held by IIWC. That was my second time joined weekend workcamp there. Yeah, I think that was an interesting and usefull activity, so I hope could join again. In that chance I tried to promoted the event to some friends and yeah some friends agree to joined it. Haha, 3 friends succesed to be poisoned by me, even one of it (my aunt) poisoned her friend too. Oh yeah, there were 2 person who I did'nt know them also poisoned by my sms. Great, all of Indonesian participants (7 include me) joined that event caused by my poison hahaha (POISONED: just take Desy's word).Over all the activity just same with first weekend workcamp who I was joined before. .The main difference are the focus of the project, the first about mangrove to prevent abration, the second one about garbage problem. Yeah, at that time we had a mission to solve the garbage problems in Mangkang, a shore area in Semarang. There, garbage everywhere and make the view so disgust. The garbage also have many other serious problems such as healthy problems and sanitation problems. Imagine, for example the plastic garbage there ate by goats! And may be the goats will be ate by Mangkang people (and us in Idul Adha).

Ok, now I will share about the activity. After we opened the weekend workcamp and introduced each other, we took a bath and prepared for dinner. Oh, I forget, we divided to be 3 teams. Cooking team, Cleaning team ad Washing team. Actually at the night I joined cooking team with 3 other participants (there are 14 participant: 5 from IIWC, 7 Indonesian participants and 2 International participants). But caused by some problems, I rolled in different team at the night and in cooking team in the noon. We got spageti in our dinner and I think it was al dente :-p. I remembered in the first weekend workcamp we also ever dinner with pasta (macaroni), but yeah not too tasty. After we dinner actually we will met with local people to sosialize our project, help them to solve garbage problem. But caused by a misscommunication, we failed to did it and finally we went home. In the voluntary home, we prepared to intercultural night with made a presentation material about Indonesia. Then we prepared to do fundrising in city hall with created some posters, puddings and pudding stickers. All of participants did it seriously.

We woke up in the dawn and went to city hall. We did fundrising to help Mangkang people build TPST (Garbage Management System). We tried to sell the puddings and got benefit. Its hard for us because much of puddings was brake hahaha. Yeah, maybe the people didnt want to ate it moreover to bought it. However we still got some kind buyers. But I thinked they bought our pudding it just caused by their social mind (absolutely :) ). We keep realistic, we were not hope too much. About 10 a.m. we went back to the home but I should went to the market to bought some food for our lunch. We had a plan to cook omlete, potatoes and carrot. And then yeah we cooked. When the cooking team was cooking, created a unique group "Last Child Gank". Hahaha, I dont know and surprised knew that all of cooking team member (me, my aunt, Atik, Joan and desy) were a last child. We cooking with fun, chatting, laughing, even crying together (caused by onion). Yeah, the absurd lunch finally created. But, all of the participant liked our lunch. Good job cooking team! The last chance, we did evaluation. We shared our felt, critic and recomendation each other. We also said sorry and thanked each other. Then we took a picture in the landfile with many of garbages.. And yeah,,, sayonaraaaa...  I hope we will reunited in other chance.
